Module 2: 2-day survival class wilderness survival kit List

Module 2: survival course mandatory gear requirements

1: A large and durable backpack or rucksack large enough to carry all your gear, food hygiene supplies, and a first aid kit. You will be living out of it for two days.

2: 1 Survival blanket We recommend an Arcturus emergency blanket 5x7 or one small packable tent or tarp and six tent stakes. 

3: A Sleeping bag with a temperature rating appropriate for the season. 

4: A single-wall stainless steel water bottle with a nesting cup or stainless steel military canteen with a cup. No smaller than 32 oz.

5: 1 large ferrocerium rod (5" or 6" Length x 1/2 "Diameter), two disposable cigarette lighters (BIC) 

6: 1 Headlamp or flashlight with two extra sets of batteries.

7: Compass with adjustable declination and sighting mirror: Example ( Suunto MC2) We have loaner compasses for the course. 1. A small notebook, preferably weatherproof, and a pen or pencil.

8: 100 feet 550 paracord.

9: 2 Bright orange bandanas. Or equivalent 100% cotton material scraps bright orange as well. Or one orange shemagh

10: 1 full tang fixed blade knife four or 5-inch blade length non-perforated.

11: Adequate and appropriate clothing and footwear (no flip-flops, sandals, heels, or wedges) for an outdoor environment and season.

Bring enough food and snacks for the class duration so the students can prepare in a camp-style environment.

Two gallons of drinking water.
