Module 2: Wilderness Survival – 2-Day Course
Course Overview
This intensive 2-day course is designed to equip outdoor enthusiasts with essential survival skills for emergency situations. Through hands-on training, participants will learn to build shelters, master firecraft, collect and purify water, utilize natural materials, and perform emergency signaling. The course also emphasizes cutting tool safety and core temperature regulation to ensure preparedness in various environments.

Optional 3-Day Course: Combined Module 1 & 2
For those looking for a comprehensive survival experience, Module 1: Land Navigation can be added to Module 2for a 3-day private or group session. This option provides a full spectrum of wilderness survival training, covering both navigation and survival essentials.
Mandatory Gear List
To ensure safety and maximize the learning experience, all participants must come equipped with the following items:
- Backpack/Rucksack – Durable and spacious enough to carry all personal gear, food, and hygiene supplies.
- Shelter System – Tent, tarp, or bivy sack suitable for expected weather conditions.
- Sleeping Bag – Appropriate for the season and temperatures anticipated.
- Clothing – Weather-appropriate attire, including moisture-wicking base layers, insulating mid-layers, waterproof outer layers, hat, gloves, and extra socks.
- Footwear – Sturdy, broken-in hiking boots or shoes.
- Water Bottle or Canteen Set with Metal Container – A durable water bottle or canteen set with a metal container for boiling water.
- Water Purification – Portable water filter or purification tablets.
- Fire Starting Tools – 5 or 6-inch large ferrocerium rod, waterproof matches, and a lighter.
- Cutting Tools – Fixed-blade knife and a folding saw or hatchet.
- Paracord (100 feet) or #36 Bank Line – For shelter building, knots, and lashings.
- Illumination – Headlamp with extra batteries.
- First Aid Kit – Personal medical supplies, including any necessary medications.
- Navigation Tools – Sighting mirror compass (loaners available upon request) and a topographic map of the training area.
- Food – Sufficient meals and snacks for 2 days (non-perishable and easy to prepare).
- Cooking Equipment – Portable stove or mess kit, including fuel if necessary.
- Miscellaneous – Sunscreen, insect repellent, notepad, pen, and personal hygiene items.
Note: Adherence to the mandatory gear list is crucial. Participants lacking required items may be unable to fully participate in certain activities.
Rules & Policies
To maintain safety, respect, and an effective learning environment, all participants must adhere to the following rules:
- Safety First – Follow all instructor guidance and safety protocols at all times.
- Respect for Nature – Leave no trace. Do not damage or disturb wildlife, vegetation, or the land.
- No Unauthorized Firearms or Weapons – Only instructor-approved cutting tools are allowed.
- No Alcohol or Drugs – The use of alcohol or illegal substances is strictly prohibited during the course.
- Medical Conditions – Notify the instructor of any medical conditions or necessary medications before the course begins.
- Stay Within Training Areas – Do not wander off from designated training zones without permission.
- Emergency Protocols – Report any injuries or concerns immediately to an instructor.
- No Aggressive or Disruptive Behavior – Respect all participants and instructors. Disruptive individuals may be removed from the course without refund.
- Adherence to Gear Requirements – Arrive with the full mandatory gear list. Failure to do so may limit participation in certain exercises.
- Hydration and Self-Care – Stay hydrated and inform instructors if experiencing fatigue or other health concerns.
- Photography & Recording – Personal photography is allowed, but recording of instructional content requires prior approval.
- Cancellation & Refunds – Cancellations must be made at least 7 days in advance for a partial refund. No refunds for last-minute cancellations or dismissals due to rule violations.
Failure to comply with these rules may result in dismissal from the course without a refund.

Day 2 – Emphasis on natural material utilization, emergency signaling, and knot-tying skills.
Optional Day 3 (With Module 1) – Basic Land Navigation
