The 24 core skills course was designed to teach students a vital set of core wilderness survival skills in a 24 Hour period although shorter than our 3 day course the 24 Hour course still teaches the skills needed to survive an emergency in the outdoors.Students will learn to use the gear listed below and in the video to accomplish vital skills such as maintaining core temperature locating and using natural materials for shelter and fire building as well as skills such as water collecting and processing.
1: sleeping bag rated for cold weather climate
2: A fixed blade knife approximately 5 inches in length.
3: 6 - 6 mil contractor type trash bags.
4: Fire kit containing 2 disposable lighters match locker with all weather matches.
5: Cotton bandana or scrap cotton material of equal size brightly colored.
6: 100 feet of 550 paracord.
7: Water bottle bottle and nesting cup or small cook pot , see video for
8: Water filter (example Sawyer mini) or 2% iodine.
9: 1 inch roll of gorilla tape.
10: Headlamp or small flashlight with extra batteries.
11: Emergency signaling mirror and whistle.
12: First aid kit.
In addition each student must bring adequate food clothing and footwear for a 24 hour winter mountain environment as well as 2 gallons of drinking water .
No children under 10 years of age .
No alcohol or drugs.
No arguing or fighting.
No straying away from class no one left alone in camp without instructor present.
If you give up or tap out you will be escorted to your vehicle.
